Brazilian footballer Neymar Jr. underwent a successful knee operation on Monday, after missing several matches with Brazilian side, Santos F.C.
According to ESPN, the 33-year-old striker wanted to “fix the pains” that have led him to miss several matches in Brazil's Série A league, adding, the “arthroscopy was performed by Rodrigo Lasmar”, a physician who also works with the Brazilian national team.
The operation was “minimally invasive” and was intended to remedy the player's inside joints located in the left knee.
Neymar Jr. has expressed enthusiasm for participating in next year's World Cup in North America. However, Italian national, Carlo Ancelloti, who was appointed Brazil's manager in May of 2025, has yet to call up the Brazilian Neymar Jr. to the national squad.
