FIFA World Cup rallies surge in short-term rentals in parts of L.A. as next summer’s tournament attracts both foreign fans and U.S. citizens from around the country

LOS ANGELES - Short-term rentals have surged by more than 50% in areas of Los Angeles as the 2026 FIFA World Cup welcomes fans from around the world and parts of the United States.

Airbnb rental homes in close proximity to SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, have gone up by as much as 56% with some units asking for $10,000 to house traveling fans for the U.S. National Team’s opening match against Paraguay on June 12, 2026.

More than 70% of the short-term rentals in the area are already booked, according to the Los Angeles Times.

About 6.5 million are expected to visit North America to witness the most popular sporting event in the world, and a large portion of these visitors will be heading to Los Angeles, where SoFi Stadium will be hosting eight of the tournament’s matches.
