What is Sociedad Media?

Sociedad Media is an independently-owned digital news outlet and Miami’s newest source for News & Developments from Latin America, U.S. Politics & latest World News.

Founded in 2025 by our Executive Editor, Dionys Duroc, following an assignment in Havana, Cuba, Sociedad Media has become Miami’s newest and fastest-growing news outlet covering the latest developments from Latin America, dedicated to providing quality news coverage to one of the largest communities of the Hispanic diaspora in the United States.

By offering our readers an unmatched view into recent events, and by reporting on the most important topics from across the region, Sociedad Media is uniquely positioned to help facilitate a valuable news corridor connecting Latin America and the Latino communities of the United States, thus providing our audience the chance at exploring the distinct social, and unique historical experiences that form the identities of the Latin American nations, and the issues that shape their societies today.

Why Sociedad Media?

With exclusive interviews from the region’s most influential and pioneering voices, complemented by those who have been largely underrepresented, including articles, stories and cultural commentary, Sociedad Media retains a vision not in redefining the issues of this region, but rather in presenting an unfiltered approach to the powerful and the unheard, without biases or prejudice, while at the same time, encouraging a relentlessly authentic depiction of these emerging events and the issues concerning the people of this region.
